The Department of Statistics Malaysia said in a statement that the significant increase in sales value was driven by petroleum, chemical, rubber and plastic products subsectors which soared 48.7 percent, driven mainly by the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products industries.
The expansion was also attributed to the electrical and electronics products subsector which rose 31 percent, supported by the manufacture of computer, electronic products and optical industries.
Meanwhile, transport equipment and other manufactured products subsectors jumped 59.5 percent, driven mainly by the manufacture of motor vehicle, trailer and semi trailer industries.
