KHARTOUM, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- The inflation rate in Sudan continued to drop for the second month in a row, registering 365.82 percent in September compared with 387.56 percent in August, Sudan's Central Bureau of Statistics said in a press release on Thursday.

The bureau attributed the drop in inflation to the decline in the annual rate of change in food prices in September, as well as the drop in the inflation rate of the imported consumer goods.

Sudan's transitional government sharply devaluated the national currency in February, in a bid to correct the economic and monetary imbalances.

In June, the government fully lifted the fuel subsidies, and it is targeting an inflation rate of about 95 percent in the general budget of 2021.
