The seasonally-adjusted production in all industries, which exclude the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector, shrank 0.7 percent in April from a month earlier, according to Statistics Korea.

The sale of semi-durable and durable goods increased 7.7 percent and 0.4 percent respectively, but the sale of non-durable goods diminished 3.4 percent on weaker demand for medicine and medical supplies.
Facility investment tumbled 7.5 percent in April on a monthly basis, keeping a downward trend for the third straight month.
