NEW YORK, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks fell on Tuesday as real estate and financials led the broad market lower.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 402.23 points, or 1.23 percent, to 32,396.17. The S&P 500 fell 27.44 points, or 0.67 percent, to 4,091.19. The Nasdaq Composite Index slipped 20.22 points, or 0.16 percent, to 12,348.76.

All the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in red, with real estate and financials down 1.3 percent and 1.07 percent, respectively, leading the losses.

The U.S. Labor Department reported Tuesday that U.S. job openings fell to 10.7 million in June from 11.3 million in May, in a potential sign that a tight labor market is starting to cool off as the economy slows.

The more-closely watched July U.S. jobs report is slated for release on Friday.
