Due to a sharp rise in foreign trade prices, nominal exports from Europe's largest economy still grew 5.5 percent year on year, according to Destatis.
The United States remained Germany's most important market, as exports increased by 14.9 percent year on year to 12.5 billion euros. Meanwhile, exports to China rose by 6.1 percent to 8.9 billion euros.
Last week, the country's Electro and Digital Industry Association (ZVEI) announced that electrical manufacturers grew exports to China by 4.1 percent year on year to 12.8 billion euros in the first half of 2022.
"The Chinese electro market is by far the largest in the world," ZVEI emphasized in a special foreign trade report. Industry exports to China increased much more dynamically than those to the rest of the world, the association said. (1 euro = 1.00 U.S. dollars)
