HANOI, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's export of phones and components posted a year-on-year rise of 3.1 percent in 2022 with an earning of approximately 59.3 billion U.S. dollars, according to the country's General Statistics Office on Tuesday.

Its biggest importers of phones and components included China, the United States and South Korea.

The number accounts for 15.9 percent of the country's total export revenue over the period.

With that revenue, phones and components continued to be Vietnam's largest export items, followed by computers and electronic components, as well as garments and textiles.

In 2022, Vietnam also spent over 21.2 billion U.S. dollars importing phones and components, down 1.2 percent year-on-year.
