MANILA, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Philippines' foreign investments yielded net outflows of 698 million U.S. dollars in September, the Philippine central bank has said.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said on Thursday that the September net outflows resulted from the gross outflows of 1.6 billion dollars and the gross inflows of 888 million dollars for the month.

"The recorded net outflows were a reversal of the net inflows posted in August amounting to 153 million dollars," the BSP said in a statement.

The net outflows in September were also larger than the net outflows of 367 million dollars recorded for the same period last year.
