HANOI, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's agro-forestry-fishery trade posted a surplus of 9.3 billion U.S. dollars in the first 10 months of this year, up 26.2 percent year-on-year, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) has reported, citing the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The country's export revenue in the sector reached 43.08 billion dollars during the cited period, falling 4.2 percent year-on-year due to a decrease in the export value of key products such as seafood with 7.45 billion dollars, down 20.5 percent, and forestry products with 11.65 billion dollars, down 19.3 percent, VNA reported on Wednesday.

China, the United States and Japan remained the top three buyers of the Vietnamese agro-forestry-fishery products.

Agricultural exports accounted for nearly half of the total, at 21.94 billion dollars in value, rising 17 percent, with fruits and vegetables, rice and cashew nuts being the key revenue earners.

Vietnam's export revenue of vegetables and rice in the first 10 months of this year surpassed the figure for the whole 2022 by 2 billion dollars, reaching a record 8.9 billion dollars, VNA reported Thursday.

Vegetable exports hit 4.92 billion dollars, up 79 percent year-on-year, while that of rice reached 4 billion dollars, a rise of 35 percent.
