Bangladesh earns 17.45 bln USD in exports in 4 months of current fiscal year

DHAKA, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh's export earnings in the first four months of the current 2023-24 fiscal year from July 2023 to June 2024 grew 3.52 percent year-on-year to 17.45 billion U.S. dollars, showed the official data Thursday.

The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) data posted on its website showed that Bangladesh earned 17,447.47 million dollars from exports in the July-October period, compared to 16,853.51 million dollars a year earlier.

Of the total earnings, EPB data showed the country's income from ready-made knitwear and woven garment items increased 5.95 percent to 14.78 billion dollars during the cited period of the current fiscal year.

According to EPB data, export earnings stood at 3.76 billion dollars in October, registering a 13.64 percent decrease over the corresponding month of the previous year.

Bangladesh set its export target in the 2023-24 fiscal year at 62 billion dollars, including over 52 billion dollars from ready-made garment products.
