SEOUL, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's export rose in the first 10 days of this month due to a rebound in global demand for locally-made semiconductors, customs office data showed on Monday.

Export came to 18.24 billion U.S. dollars in the Nov. 1-10 period, up 3.2 percent from the same period of last year, according to Korea Customs Service.

The daily average export grew 3.2 percent in the 10-day period. The monthly outbound shipment marked the first rebound in 13 months in October.

Chip export added 1.3 percent to 2.8 billion dollars for the first 10 days of November, recording the first turnaround in 14 months since September 2022.

Automotive shipment jumped 37.2 percent, but those for oil products, steel and auto parts retreated in single digits.

Import gained 1.2 percent from a year earlier to 19.98 billion dollars for the first 10 days of November, sending the trade deficit to 1.74 billion dollars.
