Cote d'Ivoire, in the third position, imported 62,000 tons of rice worth 37.5 million U.S. dollars from Vietnam in October, the report said on Tuesday.
Ghana and Malaysia also massively increased imports of Vietnamese rice, reaching 46,470 tons and 40,728 tons respectively, putting them in the fourth and fifth spots.
Compared to September, the two countries imported 20-30 percent more rice.
In early November, the prices of Vietnamese export rice soared to the highest level in the past decade. The country's rice export turnover also recorded a new peak in the first 10 months of 2023.
According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, Vietnam exported more than 7.1 million tons of rice, worth 4 billion dollars, during the cited period, up 35 percent in value and 17 percent in volume year on year.
