The move aims to meet the increasing gold buying demand of customers, many of whom had to line up at the bank's gold bar selling points from early morning over the past few days, local media reported.
According to Vietcombank, the Saigon Jewelry Company Limited (SJC) gold bullion will be sold only to customers who made online registration.
After making online registration, customers need to visit Vietcombank's offices following the confirmed time and address.
The convenient gold purchase's online registration ensures safety and security for customers and saves their time, according to the bank.
To ease the gold buying rush, four state-owned banks authorized to sell gold by the State Bank of Vietnam have opened more gold-selling locations in capital Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
On Wednesday morning, SJC gold prices are quoted at 74.98 million dong (2,946 U.S. dollars) per tael for sellers and 76.98 million dong (3,024 dollars) for buyers.
A tael equals 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces.
