The Belt and Road construction is a huge project, involving many countries, with different development situation, politics, economy, culture and history, so non-market environment is a significant factor and improvement of companies' soft power is required.
Ke Yinbin, secretary-general and senior researcher at the Chahar Institute, noted that for companies' overseas development, the first step is to start business in the country and the second step is to be localized.
Many Chinese companies still stay in the first step. The last step is to be involved in international organizations, including international organizations for standardizations, international organizations for industries and international organizations for proprietary technologies.
