The third regional data center of China Mobile (CHL.NYSE; 00941.HK), China Mobile Xiangyang Cloud Computing Center, officially started operation on Monday in Xiangyang, central China's Hubei province.
The four-phase program will see the establishment of a regional network center, a regional logistics center, a second provincial mobile service calling center and a cloud computing center, making China Mobile Xiangyang Cloud Computing Center the largest cloud computing base in Hubei or even in central China.
The cloud computing center will offer a variety of services, such as mainframe service, hosting service and maintenance service, to the government, enterprises and websites, to facilitate the transformation and upgrade of traditional industries via 'Internet+'.
