China Mobile Communications Corporation (China Mobile group), China Mobile (CHL.NYSE; 00941.HK)'s ultimate controlling shareholder, announced on Tuesday that Tian Limin will replace Zhao Jibin to become board chairman of its subsidiary China TieTong Telecommunications Corporation.
Tian Limin, born in 1960, is a part-time professor of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. He used to work in the posts and telecommunications system of Inner Mongolia until being transferred to China Mobile group. Zhao Jibin, born in 1952, is a part-time professor of Beijing Jiaotong University. He had been working in the railway system until China TieTong becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Mobile group in 2008.
