China's leading commercial vehicle maker Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd. (600166.SH) announced on Monday evening that 14 pure electric vehicle (EV) models and eight plug-in hybrid power vehicle models produced by the company were newly exempted from purchase tax.
The 22 tax-exempted models are under the brands of AUV, Aumark and MP-X, which are for buses, high-end light trucks and multi-purpose vehicles, respectively.
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the State Administration of Taxation jointly released a catalogue of the sixth batch of new energy vehicles eligible for purchase tax exemption recently, in which 725 models of NEVs were newly included, including 591 models of pure electric cars and 134 plug-in hybrid power car models. The policy will be effective until the end of 2017.
