China General Nuclear Power Corp. (CGN), a leading global clean energy group headquartered in Shenzhen recently announced it has signed legal documents with Malaysia's Edra Global Energy Bhd. to complete its acquisition of shareholdings in the latter's power subsidiaries and new projects.
According to a report from the Economic Information Daily on Monday, the transaction involved 13 clean energy projects in five Belt and Road countries, which brings the company's overseas installed capacity to 884.3 gigawatts and makes it one of China's largest international energy company.
Edra Global is a leading independent power generating company in Southeast Asia, boasting a total of 662 gigawatts of capacity. Its 13 power projects are located in Malaysia, Egypt, Bangladesh, United Arab Emirates and Pakistan, which are mainly natural gas power projects.
