Twenty items in China are now priced by the central government, about 80 percent fewer than in 2001, said Lian Weiliang, deputy chief of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), at a forum held on Sunday.

Currently, the tiered pricing system for residential electricity has been launched in all provinces and autonomous regions except Xinjiang and Tibet, while that for water and natural gas is in the process of establishment, Lian said at the 13th China Reform Forum.

The market-oriented reform in production factors, such as land, capital and labor force, is expected to achieve breakthrough during the period of 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020), analysts said at the forum.
