Southwest China's Sichuan Province will formulate and unveil a development plan for intelligent manufacturing in the 13th Five-Year Plan period from 2016 to 2020, in 2016, the local newspaper Sichuan Daily reported on Friday.
The plan will standardize and guide the province's manufacturing industry to move toward intelligentization and digitization transformation and explore and cultivate new manufacturing models.
The province will launch a batch of intelligent transformation projects in fields including electronic information, automobile manufacturing, and high-end equipment manufacturing, in 2016.
Sichuan Province recently unveiled an action plan for Made in China 2025 to fix its work emphases in 2016. Under the action plan, Sichuan aims to achieve more than 7.5 percent year-on-year growth in industrial added-value of the sizable manufacturing enterprises in 2016. In addition, it will cultivate more than 60 provincial-level manufacturing enterprise technical centers in 2016 to bring the total number to 800.
The province will also cultivate 5 to 10 intelligent manufacturing demonstration enterprises and build a batch of intelligent production lines, digital workshops and smart factories.
