East China's Shanghai will establish a third-party platform to supervise cross-border e-commerce in the city, Shang Yuying, chairman of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce (SMCC), said on Monday at a press conference in Shanghai.

The non-profit platform, scheduled to be completed in two months, will standardize the industry and protect data security of online retailers. In addition, Shanghai will allow cross-border e-commerce firms to build their own bonded warehouses, according to Shang.
