UnionPay International, China UnionPay's wholly-owned subsidiary focusing on global expansion, announced on Wednesday that it has been extending the reach of QuickPass, UnionPay's chip card-based contactless payment services, in the offshore markets.
According to UnionPay, currently in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, the Republic of Korea, Australia and Singapore, the number of point-of-sale terminals that accept QuickPass is nearly 100,000. In November, offshore transactions processed via QuickPass grew nearly ten-fold as compared with the start of this year.
