The number of financial integrated circuit cards, or chip bankcards, issued in China accumulatively is estimated to be over two billion at the end of 2015, said China UnionPay on Wednesday.
China has been actively promoting the growth of chip cards. Data from China's central bank showed that Chinese financial institutions issued a total of 1.883 billion financial IC cards as of end-September 2015.
