China exported 83.11 million tonnes of steel products in the first nine months of 2015, up 27.2 percent year on year, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs (GAC) on Tuesday.
China exported 11.25 million tonnes of steel products in September, compared to the 9.73 million tonnes of steel export in August, the customs data showed. Despite the increase in steel export volume, the export value declined 4.8 percent on year during January-September due to lower steel prices.
The country imported 9.73 million tonnes of steel in January-September, down 11.6 percent year on year.
