The robot industry will play an important role in the transformation and upgrade of China's manufacturing industry and will push other relevant industries to develop rapidly, the Xinhua-run cnstock.com reported on Tuesday, quoting an official with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
Zhang Xiangmu, director general of the MIIT's Department of Equipment Industry, said at a recent symposium that the development of China's robot industry will insist on market orientation.
Meanwhile, the robot industry will boost independent innovation, master core technologies and own proprietary intellectual property rights. Besides, all entities and scientific research institutions need to join their hands to guarantee rapid and healthy development of China's robot industry, Zhang added.
