China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) will formulate a roadmap for integrative development of internet and manufacturing industries as part of its efforts to deepen innovative development of internet plus manufacturing, according to the ministry's 2016 work conference held on Thursday.
According to the conference, the ministry will focus on smart manufacturing and support innovative applications of high-end numerical control machines and industrial robots, additive manufacturing, intelligent sensing and control, smart detection and assembling, and intelligent logistics and storage. Meanwhile, the MIIT will continue the pilot demonstrative action for smart manufacturing and will shortlist more than 60 new-model pilot demonstrative projects.
