China's telecom industry is expected to generate two trillion yuan in sales revenue in 2016, according to China Academy of Telecommunication Research (CATR).
Meanwhile, China's fixed-line broadband network will be completely upgraded from copper cable to optical cable, 4G business will develop at a faster pace, and Internet network structure will be optimized, said CATR's chief engineer Yu Xiaohui.
Besides, software defined networking and network functions virtualization will be applied in wide area network, Internet of Things will enter into a new stage of building a global ecosystem, industrial Internet will lead the global industry evolution, artificial intelligence will develop fast and change the future, Internet plus will boost the evolution of security defense technologies, and the government will restructure the supervision system for Internet plus.
