The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) is formulating China Manufacturing 2025 as well as a development plan for the 2016-2020 period to re-adjust domestic solar PV industry, said Jin Lei, an official with the MIIT during 2015 China PV Summit.
The MIIT will also release PV development roadmap, PV industry standardized technology system and further refine subsidy policies for the PV industry, said Jin, quoted by Economic Information Daily on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, China will continue to support solar PV development and will not stop subsidizing the PV sector in the following 8 to 10 years, said Liang Zhipeng, deputy director with department of new energy and renewable energy under the National Energy Administration (NEA) at the same event.
The government would shift subsidy focus to distributed PV development to expand distributed PV capacity while speed up Top Runner program constructions in the 2016-2020 period, Liang said.
Industry observers note that the lagging-behind subsidy has hindered PV industry development in recent years. The subsidy would be provided shortly but it is now hard to say the exact timetable, according to Liang.
