New energy contributes over 25pct of total installed capacity in NW China

Installed new energy capacity in northwest China amounted to 47.68 million kw by the end of last November, accounting for 26.2 percent of the total installed capacity in the region, according to the local branch of State Grid Corporation of China.

A company official, Bai Xingzhong, told Xinhua that of the installed new energy capacity, 28.71 million kw were wind power capacity and 18.97 million kw were photovoltaic capacity.

Bai said new energy power generation reached 55.9 billion kWh in the first 11 months of 2015, rising 30 percent year on year. Wind power generation and photovoltaic power generation were 35.5 billion kWh and 20.4 billion kWh, increasing 19 percent and 33 percent year on year, respectively.
