CSI, CME ink cooperation deal to jointly develop commodity indices

China Securities Index Co., Ltd announced recently that the company has inked a cooperation agreement with the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) to jointly develop commodity indices.

Under the agreement, the CME authorized CSI to use its trading data in the development of commodity indices and CSI approved relevant index derivatives to be traded on the CME.

The first index developed by the two companies will be the CSI-CME China Consuming Commodity Index, which will track futures prices of commodities that are in big demand in China.
