China current account sees RMB910.8 bln surplus in H1, SAFE

China recorded 910.8 billion yuan of surplus under current account and 358.1 billion yuan of deficits under capital and financial account in in the first half of this year, according to the data released by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) on Wednesday.

Calculated by the U.S. dollars, China saw 148.6 billion U.S. dollars of surplus under current account in the first half of this year. In a breakdown, the trade of goods generated 256.6 billion U.S. dollars of surplus, while the service trade recorded a deficit of 94.5 billion U.S. dollars, the data showed.

In the capital and financial account, the deficit was 58.5 billion U.S. dollars during the reporting period. Meanwhile, China's international reserve assets showed a decline of 67.1 billion U.S. dollars.
