The U.S. dollar changed hands in the lower 111 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Tuesday, largely in line with its levels in New York overnight.
As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 111.14-15 yen compared with 111.07-17 yen in New York and 110.98-99 yen at 5 p.m. on Monday in Tokyo.
The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1593-1594 dollars and 128.85-86 yen against 1.1590-1600 dollars and 128.80-90 yen in New York and 1.1566-1567 dollars and 128.36-40 yen in late Monday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
