U.S. dollar falls amid rising sterling

NEW YORK, March 11 (Xinhua) -- U.S. dollar retreated in late trading on Monday amid rebounding sterling.

In late New York trading, the euro was down to 1.1240 U.S. dollars from 1.1241 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound increased to 1.3150 dollars from 1.3013 dollars in the previous session. The Australian dollar was up to 0.7061 dollar from 0.7048 dollar.

The U.S. dollar bought 111.22 Japanese yen, higher than 111.08 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar increased to 1.0112 Swiss francs from 1.0073 Swiss francs, and it was down to 1.3408 Canadian dollars from 1.3412 Canadian dollars.
