U.S. dollar rises amid improved risk appetite

NEW YORK, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar rose in late trading on Monday as risk appetite was improved across financial markets.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, increased 0.05 percent at 98.3310 in late trading.

In late New York trading, the euro decreased to 1.1009 dollars from 1.1019 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound rose to 1.2900 dollars from 1.2829 U.S. dollars in the previous session. The Australian dollar fell to 0.6775 dollar from 0.6784 dollar.

The U.S. dollar bought 108.96 Japanese yen, higher than 108.62 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar decreased to 0.9971 Swiss franc from 0.9977 Swiss franc, and it was up to 1.3306 Canadian dollars from 1.3293 Canadian dollars.
