SHANGHAI, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Crude oil futures closed higher Monday on the Shanghai International Energy Exchange.
The most active crude oil contract for June delivery was up 11.3 yuan (about 1.7 U.S. dollars) to close at 496.8 yuan a barrel.
On Monday, the total trading volume for six listed crude oil futures contracts on the exchange was 278,530 lots, with a turnover of about 136.7 billion yuan.
China launched the crude oil futures trading, which is open to overseas investment, on March 26 last year.
