The most active gold contract for June delivery was up 5.36 yuan (about 75 U.S. cents) to close at 339.78 yuan a gram.
The total trading volume for seven listed gold futures contracts on the exchange was 222,716 lots, with a turnover of about 75.3 billion yuan.
