Tokyo shares ended slightly lower on Tuesday on a stronger yen and concerns over China's economic outlook, but bargain hunting help hold the downside.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 21.21 points, or 0. 10 percent, from Monday at 20,328.89. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 8.44 points, or 0.52 percent, at 1, 629.46. Decliners were led by shipping and banking issues, while gainers included agriculture and fisheries and utilities issues. The turnover was about 2,577.4 billion yen (about 20.87 billion U.S. dollars).
