Stock indices tracking Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses opened lower on Monday.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened 1.63 percent lower at 3,522.46. The Shenzhen Composite Index opened 2.02 percent lower at 2,161.11, The SME Price Index for small firms was down 1.58 percent to open at 8,213.56, and the ChiNext Index opened 1.98 percent lower at 2,656.57.
All listed sectors opened in the negative territory. Stocks of Internet, securities dealers, media and entertainment, medical treatment, environmental protection, mineral products, telecom operation, and building materials sectors led the losers at Monday's opening.
