Stock indices tracking Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses opened mixed on Wednesday. The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.06 percent lower at 3,614.07. The Shenzhen Composite Index opened 0.02 percent higher at 2,300.63. The SME Price Index for small firms was up 0.04 percent to open at 8,617.50 and the ChiNext Index opened 0.09 percent lower at 2,813.51.
Stocks of aviation, shipbuilding, nonferrous metals, logistics, iron and steel, chemical, petroleum and software sectors were among the top gainers at the opening while those in securities brokerage, hotel and catering, telecom operation, food and beverage, bank, insurance, coal and medical sectors led the losers.
