Chinese shares open higher on Wed.

Share prices on the Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses opened higher on Wednesday. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.01 percent higher at 3,748.34. The Shenzhen Composite Index opened 0.14 percent higher at 1,961.14. The SME Price Index for small firms was up 0.26 percent to open at 8,026.96 and the ChiNext Index opened 0.51 percent higher at 2,347.00.

Stocks of insurance, mineral products, tourism, internet, environmental protection, securities dealers, medicines, and agriculture sectors led the gainers at Wednesday's opening, while the leading losers were in telecom operation, shipbuilding, coal, nonferrous metals, software services, petroleum, banking, electricity grid, and property sectors.
