Tokyo shares ended higher Friday, after the Bank of England hinted at further monetary easing to prop up Britain's economy.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended up 106.56 points, or 0. 68 percent, from Thursday at 15,682.48.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 8.62 points, or 0.69 percent, higher at 1,254.44.
Gainers were led by fishery, agriculture and forestry, pharmaceuticals and chemical issues. The day's turnover was about 1,795.8 billion yen (around 17.46 billion U.S. dollars).
