TOKYO, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher Monday tracking gains on Wall Street late last week, with sentiment also lifted by eased concerns over the global economic outlook.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 362.84 points, or 1.71 percent, from Friday to 21,568.65.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 23.43 points, or 1.47 percent, at 1,615.07.
Oil and coal product, pharmaceutical, and iron and steel-linked issues comprised those that gained the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
