BEIJING, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- A total of 160.6 million investors in China have opened accounts to trade stocks in the country's stock market by the end of January, industry data showed.
Individual investors accounted for the majority of the investors, reaching around 160.2 million, while some 383,300 institutional investors had accounts, according to China Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation Limited.
By the end of January, the number of individual investors with A-share accounts has reached 159.6 million with approximately 2.4 million in the B-share market.
In January, the number of newly added investors reached over 800,000.
