TOKYO, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher Friday after Wall Street's upbeat lead, with a weaker yen against the U.S. dollar adding support and giving exporters in particular a boost.

As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 315.74 points, or 1.11 percent, from Thursday to 28,657.69.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 16.13 points, or 0.86 percent, at 1,881.25.

Transportation equipment, air transportation and precision instrument issues comprised those that advanced the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
