TOKYO, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher Tuesday following all three major indexes on Wall Street closing at record highs overnight as investors were optimistic that a fresh round of stimulus would buoy the economy with sentiment also bolstered by solid corporate earnings.

As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 68.73 points, or 0.23 percent, from Monday to 29,457.23.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 2.30 points, or 0.12 percent, at 1,926.25.

Securities brokerage, information and communication, and oil and coal product issues comprised those that advanced the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
