S.Korea's consumer sentiment improves for 3 months in November

SEOUL, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- Sentiment among South Korean consumers over the economic situation improved for three straight months on eased quarantine measures against COVID-19, central bank data showed Tuesday.

The composite consumer sentiment index (CCSI) came in at 107.6 in November, up 0.8 points from the prior month, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).

It continued to rise for the third consecutive month as the government moderated anti-virus measures with the full vaccination rate topping 70 percent of the total population.

The index for future consumer spending gained 3 points over the month to 115 in November, and the reading for current economic situation added 1 point to 81.

The indices for future economic situation and future household income were unchanged at 96 and 101 in November compared to the previous month.

Inflation expectations, which gauge outlook among consumers over headline inflation for the next 12 months, rose 0.3 percentage points from a month earlier to 2.7 percent in November.
