The processing and manufacturing sector, the main driver behind the increase, went up 8 percent. The electricity production and distribution sector expanded 7 percent, said the office.
In December alone, the industrial production index decreased 1 percent against November and rose 0.2 percent year-on-year.
Last year, the production of beer witnessed the largest output year-on-year growth of 35.3 percent, followed by processed seafood, up 15.7 percent and phone accessories, up 15.1 percent.
As of Dec. 1, 2022, the total number of employees in the industrial sector edged up 0.3 percent year-on-year, said the office.
