The producer price index (PPI) gained 0.3 percent in July from a year earlier, after retreating 0.1 percent in April, 0.4 percent in May and 0.2 percent in June, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).
Producer price for industrial products, including oil products, inched up 0.1 percent last month.
Price for coal and oil products advanced 3.7 percent after dropping 8.1 percent in May and 3.8 percent in June.
Price for agricultural, livestock and fishery products among suppliers increased 4.7 percent last month due to higher farm goods price, caused by impact of the torrential rain.
Price for electricity, natural gas and tap water slipped 0.5 percent in July, turning downward in three months.
Services price among suppliers added 0.3 percent owing to higher costs for the eatery and lodging and the transport services during the summer holiday season.
