Assets of credit institutions up in Vietnam

HANOI, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Total assets of Vietnamese credit institutions reached more than 21.07 quadrillion Vietnamese dong (840.48 billion U.S. dollars) by June 2024, up 4.97 percent compared to the end of 2023, Vietnam News Agency reported on Friday, citing the State Bank of Vietnam.

The Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam continued to be the bank with the largest total assets of 2.52 quadrillion dong (100.5 billion dollars) in the market at the end of the second quarter of 2024.

The total charter capital of the Vietnamese credit institution system reached nearly 1.07 quadrillion dong (42.6 billion dollars) by the end of June 2024, an increase of 6.6 percent compared to the end of 2023, said the report.

The ratio of outstanding loans to total deposits of the credit institution system by June was 78.25 percent.
