China aims to comprehensively enhance forestry modernization in its 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), said Zhang Jianlong, chief of China's State Forestry Administration at a recent meeting.
The State Forestry Administration held a meeting on Tuesday to hear opinions and suggestions of experts about a five-year plan for the forestry. The experts said that the authorities have to implement measures of protecting wet land and wild fauna and flora, pay more attention to wood security, properly handle the relation between ecology and industry, increase efforts to build wood strategic bases for national reserves, and strengthen talent team construction.
Zhang asked the plan formulating team to fully study suggestions of the experts and put them into place in the formulation.
