Chinese demand of natural gas in heat supply season from November of 2015 to March 2016 would increase 11 percent to 65.3 billion cubic meters, according to Asian top refiner Sinopec Corp. (SNP.NYSE; 00386.HK; 600028.SH).
PetroChina would supply 69.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the period rising 18.3 percent year on year. "PetroChina has suspended operation of some self-operated gas-guzzling factories and natural gas supply for vehicles in some cities could be impacted in extreme scenario," said Hou Chuangye, deputy general manager with PetroChina's pipeline and natural gas arm.
Daily natural gas supply by PetroChina hit record high of 503 million cubic meters on November 27. Meanwhile, daily natural gas consumption in capital city Beijing set new high of 98.97 million cubic meters on November 26.
